See-through Showcase: Custom Glass Shaft
For a client wanting to showcase the lift mechanics and provide unobstructed view over the facility, Southern Lifts installed a custom glass lift shaft on an Australian made public access lift.
The problem
The client wanted a lift that would serve as both functional transportation and an architectural feature. They wanted visitors to see the mechanical workings of the lift while maintaining an unobstructed view across the facility.
What we did
We designed and installed a fully glass shaft around an Orion public access lift. The transparent enclosure showcases the lift's mechanical operation while maintaining safety and compliance with Australian standards.
The result
A stunning architectural feature that doubles as functional access equipment. The glass shaft has become a talking point for visitors and demonstrates the quality of Australian-made lift engineering.
